SCEES to launch new Energy Service

Today, SCEES welcomed Lesley Griffiths, Cabinet Secretary Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs to Cadle Primary School to launch the Welsh Government's new Energy Service.

The Cabinet Secretary, the Leader of Swansea Council were both given a tour of our installation at Cadle Primary School and the school's eco-committee explained how they'd used funding from SCEES' community benefit fund to grow fresh fruit and veg.

"We have been very busy growing range of fruit and vegetables as part of our Healthy Helpers project. We now have over 15 planters on school grounds and currently 10 planters are being used. We are making good progress with our project, it is a whole team effort and everyone is on board. All Phases have been responsible for planters on the Key Stage 2 Yard to prep, plant and harvest the fruit and vegetables. Additionally, the Foundation Phase and Early Years also have other planters on their yard which they are responsible for. Our aim is to harvest and share our produce with our Local community towards the end of term. We now have wide range of fruit and vegetables we have been planting and proud pupils who have been very busy!"
